GCHEG 5th Annual Day of Service

Date: DECEMBER 3, 2016

500 Spratt St B; Charlotte, NC 28205

Second Harvest Food Bank will host GCHEG for their Fifth Annual Day-of-Service.  Activities will include: sorting, inspecting, boxing, stocking food, keeping the warehouse clean by moving pallets, dusting, and sweeping. Also, on an as needed basis, packing food boxes and/or food backpacks for kids. This is a family-friendly event, but volunteers who are children need to be age 6 or older. Please wear comfortable conservative clothing, CLOSED TOED SHOES are required.

Please arrive on time. There is an orientation for each volunteer activity at the beginning of each shift that is mandatory in order to participate.

Your support is important and valuable. One hour of your time provides the Food Bank with $21.79 in labor savings.  Because there is no registration fee this year required for supplies, GCHEG is asking for donations be made to Second Harvest.  GCHEG will match chapter member’s donations up to $200.

Funds are Second Harvest’s greatest need and a wonderful way to multiply your giving.  In the big picture, we are able to provide 7 pounds of food into the community for every $1 donated!  Funds help Second Harvest keep refrigerated trucks on the road allowing us to pick-up and distribute fresh produce, dairy and meats to our partner agencies. We are also able to purchase products by the pallet – securing much needed items at great pricing.  In short, funds result in critical and healthy foods reaching more people in need.

Donations can be made directly to Second Harvest at https://www.classy.org/fundraise?fcid=826038 Second Harvest also accept cash, checks on the day of the event. Checks can be made out to Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina.

** Voluntary donations will be matched by GCHEG up to $200 and donated to Second Harvest.**
